In our tech based world, getting ready for a new employee typically results in an entire “to-do” list of systems they need access to and accounts that need to be set up. Make sure that your employee recognition program system is not forgotten! Below are three simple ways to seamlessly work your new hires into your employee recognition program.
Allow them access – Make sure that you plan ahead and get an employee recognition program account set up for your new hires BEFORE their start date. It will completely ruin any excitement and hype if you tell your new hires about the great employee recognition program your organization offers only to have them attempt to log in and be denied.
Introduce them to the program – Most clients spend months (or even years) planning out their employee recognition program and deciding on the kick off method to generate the most excitement and buzz. When asked about how they plan to introduce the program to new hires and get THEM excited, however, more often than not the question results in blank stares (or rather, dead air, since we’re usually talking to them by phone). At the very least, be sure to include an exciting flyer with program details in your new hire packet and/or schedule a welcome email to be sent through your employee recognition system with all the pertinent details to give them information on the program and access to their account.
Give them a warm welcome – Add a section to your employee recognition program site that notifies employees of new hires and introduces them to their new coworkers. Include a start date or send out a new hire notification to everyone on that date so they can greet their new team member with their choice of ‘Welcome Aboard’ ecard or drop them a quick note!
Don’t let the momentum of your great employee recognition program fizz out with new employees. Make sure it’s an exciting part of the introduction to their new job and that they get a warm welcome from their new team!
